Youth Advisory Board
The ECO2school Youth Advisory Board (YAB) engages students in the larger community
The board helps inform the program, and community venues, and provides a
youth perspective to the larger community of climate activists.
Board members represent their high school school at a local and regional level. They join forces with student from across Sonoma County to strategize solutions that can further engage student in building sustainable practices on their school campuses.
Meet this year's Youth Advisory Board Members...
Geena Espinoza is a senior at Santa Rosa High School, this is her third year serving on the Youth Advisory Board. She joined the board because of her concern for the planets declining health. She is a fierce advocate for the planet seeking out opportunities to educate peers and engage her community with her message about climate change. In her free time, Geena enjoys swimming, spending time with friends and traveling.
Yeny Pineda is a senior at Roseland University Prep and an officer in her Eco Club. She is committed to sharing her knowledge that the environment is changing with her peers and letting them know we can make a difference. Yeny enjoys spending time outdoors plays soccer, basketball, and badminton the school’s team.
Coral Utnehmer is a sophomore at Credo High School. Green is her favorite color. It is the color of her school, the color of her politics and it colors her mission in life to improve the planet. Since she was little she has shown compassion towards natural environments and the animals that live in them. Coral enjoys spending time outside whether its hiking in hills of walking along the beach. She is excited about making a difference and protecting the Earth that she loves.
